Prepare For Storing Your Vehicle
- Confirm the fit: Provide the branch with the vehicle type and full dimensions, including accessories, before booking.
- Clean and inspect it: Wash the exterior, remove food and rubbish, and check the interior for damp items or anything that could attract pests.
- Remove valuables: Take out personal possessions, important documents and loose valuable items before leaving the vehicle.
- Check fluids and leaks: Ensure there are no active fuel, oil, coolant or other fluid leaks. Report any concern before parking the vehicle.
- Prepare the battery: For longer stays, follow the manufacturer’s guidance on battery maintenance or disconnection. Any charger or power requirement must be agreed with the branch in advance.
- Protect the tyres: Inflate tyres to the recommended pressure and consider manufacturer-approved long-term storage measures if the vehicle will remain stationary for an extended period.
- Use a suitable cover: For uncovered parking, use a breathable, weather-appropriate vehicle cover that is securely fitted and will not damage the paintwork.
- Secure the vehicle: Close windows and roof vents, lock doors and compartments, and retain the keys unless different arrangements have been agreed with the branch.
- Keep documents current: Maintain appropriate insurance, registration, inspection and any other legal requirements applicable to the vehicle.
- Plan collection and access: Confirm access arrangements, notice requirements and branch procedures before drop-off and collection.
